PolyClay Chemistry:

 

CTech's PolyClay is a blended product based on natural minerals supplied in powdered, semi-granular and  granular formulations, which are added directly into the  waste water. The components of the formulations dissolve and react in sequence.  They work by pH adjustment, precipitation, ion exchange, coagulation and flocculation. PolyClay offer many advantages over traditional treatment methods.

Tightening legislation and increasing costs for disposing of aqueous effluents have made it increasingly important for companies in the waterborne paints industry to treat their waste on-site and to look at ways of optimizing that treatment and reducing their overall treatment costs in terms of chemical usage and sludge disposal.

Benefits of PolyClay Chemistry:

  • Usually eliminates the handling of strong liquid acids and alkalis.

  • Usually eliminates the need to pre-mix solutions prior to treatment.

  • Usually encapsulates the contaminants to prevent them leaching back out  of the sludge at the landfill site. This reduces the hazardous classification of  the sludge and hence substantially reduces disposal costs.

  • Significantly improves the dewatering of the sludge and prevents blinding  of the filter press or filter media.

  • Typical filter press cakes will be 50 – 60 % solids.

  • Usually more efficient in removing metals from wastewater. Usually reduces COD and suspended solids levels more effectively than traditional methods.

  • Rapid reaction and settling time to enable fast processing of wastewater.
